Pamela Dearing
Pamela studied Fine Art at St Mary’s College, Cheltenham and Plymouth University. Much of her working life has been spent teaching, both Art and in special education. She has lived in the South West for around 40 years and settled in South East Cornwall, where she set up her studio. She’s held many exhibitions across the South West and regularly takes part in annual Open Studios.
Her starting point for most of her work is invariably reached by weaving together influences from the mesmerising Cornish coastline, woodlands, green lanes, and trackways. Most of her work is mixed media on canvas, using acrylics, oil pastels, inks and collage. At the core of her work is always the draw of the light, patterns and colours of the world around her.
