Louise Dunne
Louise was born in Singapore, but her family moved back to the UK before her 1st birthday. They lived in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire settling in Devon. Her parents were landlords of a rural pub, so Louise grew up exposed to a complex reality of the joys and tragedies of so many people's lives. With the pub at the heart of the community, she quickly learned the values of empathy and kindness, and had the good fortune to meet a wide variety of very colourful characters.
Louise has spent most of her working life writing academic texts and lecturing on political, economic and social issues, as well as Programme and Project Management. As a life-long activist for womens' rights, together with thousands of other women, she has campaigned successfully over the past 45 years to bring about policy and legislative changes to improve women's lives.
Louise relocated from London in her early 50s and, together with her husband Simon, took over the running of a large hotel in South East Cornwall. Whilst there, she had an opportunity to be Managing Director of a local radio station where she had the immense good fortune to work alongside the engineering genius of Neil Hipkiss.
Louise now runs a local womens' mental health and well-being writing group. Just Kernow is her first novel.
